Math week challenge
Math week challenge
Today as part of maths week we did a math challenges, in groups of four.
Three activities we did were: Find the way to the middle of the maze, which shapes are witch and work out the code.
The most difficult challenge was the prime numbers sheet.
I enjoyed working out the mazes because we worked as a team.
What is a prime number?
A prime number is a number that can only be divided by 2 numbers itself and one. Exp: 13 1,13 1 Prime.

Wearable arts

Monday
9am
Here is the start of our wearable art journey. This morning we are going to work on the skirt. Today my group is going to cut up strips of bubble wrap and glue it strip by strip on to Katy's dress. Then we are going to add a long piece of bubble wrap flowing from the back of the dress like the train the bride wears at weddings.
Afternoon
Today we made the dress and pretty things for the hair like the veil.
I found out that you can not glue plastic or fabric with a cold glue gun.
I wondered how hard it would be to glue the bubble wrap skirt on to Katy's old dress.
The most challenging part was to make the head band because it was not staying in place.
Now I need to bring a coat hanger for tomorrow to hang my dress so it does not get ruined.
Tomorrow my group and I will make the top part of our recyclable dress.
The most fun part was making the skirt because we worked as a team!

Tuesday
10:55
Today I need to work on:
- Add bottle caps/plastic bags.
- Add a bit of bubble wrap flowing off the bow.
- Add scrunched up plastic bags to the sleeves.
- Add bows and sparkly things to the long train at the back of the skirt.
9:35
Yesterday we completed the front of the shirt by adding bottle caps to it.
We had difficulty gluing on the black sparkly fabric under the layers of bubble wrap dress because the hot glue gun was hot so it was hard to press it in place.
We found out that putting holes in the middle of the bottle caps makes it easier to thread it on to the string to make a necklace.
Working as a team is easier because we can give each other good ideas for the dress.
Does my outfit reflect my element, AIR? It does because the bow is puffy like clouds, my skirt is kind of puffy and the long bit of bubble wrap flies out behind me like AIR.
The Torbay School Learning Model helps us because in the word DO it tells us when we DO stuff how to make it better.
Thursday
9:23
Overall I feel extremely proud of our wearable art piece because it looks awesome.
The biggest success was the layered bubble wrap skirt on the dress.
My most enjoyable part was making the bubble wrap skirt on the dress.
The hardest art was making the scrunched up plastic bags stay together with the hot glue gun.
If I had to do this again I would make the bubble wrap dress puff up because it will make it look more like a ballet tutu.
I have learnt how to make the skirt of the dress layered.
